Banner Outage Scheduled July 12-14

A major technology initiative is underway replacing the hardware and operating system on which the student information system (Banner) runs. IT and Banner functional owners have worked this entire fiscal year planning and testing this effort in our development (BAN3) and test (BAN2) environments.
IT plans to make this change in Banner production (BAN1) starting Friday, July 12th at 6PM and is expected to complete by Sunday, July 14th at 9PM. During this time, Banner and all student systems which connect to it, will be down for maintenance. A partial list of those applications is below.
Impacts
After this work is completed successfully (starting Monday, July 15th) there will be impacts for users connecting to BAN1 with Brio Query, SQL Developer, Toad, WinSCP/PuTTY/Filezilla and similar tools. VPN (access.yale.edu) will be required on and off campus when using these tools. This already impacts users connecting to BAN3 and BAN2. Users who need Cisco VPN Anyconnect installed on their machines can reference Install Cisco VPN Anyconnect located on the Banner Support Site.
